Photo a Day: Schatzie

Well today might be called a “double dip” because I know that it will be difficult for me to find time to post tomorrow morning and well, I finished editing this shot today. This is Schatzie, Bryan’s dog.

Photographing animals, especially active dogs can be hard. Combining the length of the 85mm f1.4 and Bryan’s ability to effectively stop Schatzie I was able to pull off this shot. I used an aperture of f3.5 because I felt like it gave just the right amount of depth of field for what I was going for. I tried to get away from my desaturated look I’ve been using on a lot of my shots lately. Hopefully I’ve pulled off a better balance of saturation which I think fits the dog, grass, nature-ish theme pretty well. Well, enjoy.
