Photo A Day: Clinton Skatepark

Today’s photo-a-day is a diptych of two shots I took at the skate park in Clinton. The skater’s name is Gabe.

This was my first time shooting people skateboarding. Although I really wasn’t feeling 100% I’m sure that didn’t have much of an effect on my performance because this is one very difficult sport to capture with a camera. Generally a wide angle lens is needed to capture the feeling and size of the tricks, while a wide angle lens means crappy autofocus spotting. Couple that with the fact that you have to be right underneath the skater to get that “big feeling” and yes this becomes a difficult subject with the camera.

I’d like to thank Gabe and the guys for their cooperation with me getting in a lot of peoples’ way. I’ll be returning to try to improve my skills.

   Hey- the skate park photos were something I did for fun. I understand that you’re anxious to see them online, in fact I’m flattered by that, but please understand that I have editing to do for paying customers and they take priority. It’s going require just as much, if not more, effort to email you the pictures than to post them on the website. As soon as I’m done with the next batch of photos I’ll edit and post the pictures from the skate park. Thanks for visiting the website and taking the time to comment.
