Website Update and Wedding Shots

April 23, 2008

wedban.jpg

With all that’s going on right now I haven’t had any time to update the blog– but I have been shooting! Actually– I just shot my first wedding last week, above is a preview of one of the candids I took. By the way- for those of you with keen eyes, I’ve re-designed the blog to allow me to do daily “one shot” posts. Hopefully these daily shots will be examples of my “select” work. Please allow a few weeks for me to work out the bugs with the new theme. Thannks–

Fixes, Additions

February 14, 2008

Okay so I just wanted to let everyone know that the comments and mailing list subscriptions were broken for the past month or so. I noticed this this morning. After looking around I found traces of some of the comments, Christine, Jenna, and my Cousin Steve in particular. I just wanted to to say thanks to you guys for commenting. I can’t tell you enough how much comments really motivate me to keep shooting and posting. Another thing: I’ve gotten a lot of questions about how to download pictures. I’ve made it so there is a small Download link underneath the pictures after you click on them. This still means that I would like to be asked before they are published in any form. But as far as for personal use, download away. So I hope everyone likes this new feature.

How you can help me help you…

January 9, 2008

Okay, so don’t get me wrong I love photography. I wouldn’t be shooting all the events and people if I didn’t like doing it. But right now I’m trying to expand my photography gear. I’m looking for some gigs to shoot right now to help with the cost. Right now I’m just looking for a little something to add up over time. I’ve decided to implement some non-invasive, amazon.com ads into this website. By clicking on one of these ads and buying ANYthing from amazon.com 4% of whatever you spend will be kicked back to me.

My pledges:

Any money earned from your clicks will only go towards new gear: first a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash unit, then a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens

I will give an in depth review for the items I buy.

I will post monthly earnings on the last day of each month.

I will never allow the website to become cluttered by ads, or force you to click anything.

By using the amazon.com links found on my website you will support my career as a photojournalist. Right now I’m not compensated for my work. Each time I go out and shoot a school event or a family on vacation it’s because of my love for photography. Each time I write an article it’s because I want to help other people develop the same love for photography that I have. So in short if you want to say “thanks” please use my amazon.com referral links found throughout the website.

Notice: just clicking the banner at the top of any page, then buying whatever you’d like will help me get the gear I need.

Update!

December 1, 2007

I’ve just completed a fairly light revamp of the website. Some of the updates include a new “effect” for viewing photos, a mailing list feature, improved aesthetics, improved navigation via categories, and improved search engine optimization.

I’ve had a lot of people ask me “How did you make your website?” Well, the short answer is usually “I own a web design company, Sound Web Design.” The long answer, for the more “tech savvy” is that my website is a combination of Wordpress, Nextgen Gallery, and a fair amount of coding/tweaking.
