California was one of the best weeks of my life. From sailing in Santa Barbra, to hiking the Sierras, to totaling a car in a crash this was one hell of a week. So I spent most of the week with my friend Bree who lives in Santa Clarita. The first day we went to Santa Monica and Venice, it was also “Go Skateboarding Day.” So I got to get some pictures of some pro skaters and a lot of the skate-culture in so-cal. Bree got her palm read in Venice. The guy was apparently pretty accurate so I got suckered in to spending five bucks and honestly I was astonished at how accurate he was. Don’t worry that was definately a one time thing, I can’t afford nor do I care about what my palms have to say about my life. Then we went to the L.A. film festival and saw Hottie Boomba Lottie, which was freaking hilarious. No lie– it was better than 90% of the movies I’ve seen in the theaters. We met up with my cousin Ally and saw her apartment then the next night Ally took us out to Metal Skool. Metal Skool is an exact replica of any 1985 rock concert you can think of. The band covers every hit song that everyone knows, it was great! Oops, I forgot! Some where along the line we had to recover Bree’s phone from a homeless person! It must have fallen out of her purse after the film festival. Next we met up with some of Bree’s close friends and went swimming together. Then we went off to the Sierras on thursday to go hiking. We went to an area called Onion Valley. On the drive up we stopped and took pictures at an abandoned gold mine and an old union pacific train. Onion Valley was beautiful, we hiked up to Flower Lake which is a lake created by snow melt. We braved the cold and took a dip then napped for an hour in the sun. On the hike back we met up with a guy who had been hiking the Pacific Crest Trail for a month and a half. He started at the border of Mexico and will be hiking through Canada. He expects to be done by October. Unfortunately on the 3.5 hour ride home was abruptly stopped by an extremely scary accident. Bree was driving in the right lane and attempted to pass a truck but the truck slammed on his brakes and Bree braked and swerved to avoid him. The car started to skid and she lost control. We flew across all three lanes and hit the center median going 75 mph then bounced across all three lanes. Luckily we weren’t hit by any of the cars passing us. After another three hours the car was towed by AAA and we were in bed safe and grateful for our lives. The last day we spent in Santa Barbra. I showed Bree a little of what my life is like. We rented a 16.5 foot Capri sailboat and went sailing for a bit. Then we went to a habatchi grill and enjoyed steak and halibut. I’m so sad to be leaving santa clarita. Truly this was a time that I will always remember, so sad to go. Oh and thanks to mom for getting me the ticket to CA for my birthday. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. And thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Mobley for having me and Bailey for giving me her room for the week. Oh and Bree for being my socal guide.

Aaron! I absolutely love every single shot (You already know my favorites). The pictures definately represent our Californian adventure! I especially love our matching NYLC shirts.
AARON! You are welcome for the room
You kept it WAY cleaner than I ever could. It was nice having you stay with us. You really fit right in with the rest of the fam and I really think that you lucked out and truly experienced what life is like in CA. From the crazy drivers/traffic, bums in Venice, Sierras, dry 100 degree weather, SB and of course In and Out
Next time you come visit, hopefully I will have my own place in San Diego and you and Bree can stay there.
Yo, teribble pictures. You should quit taking pictures forever. No, I loved the most of them, the tree I loved the most…Seems like you had a great time!
hey everyone thanks for taking a look at the pictures. Bree! I will be back to CA at some point and Bailey hopefully we’ll be staying at your place in san diego! Alon you know I was thinking the same thing, maybe I will just give up taking pictures forever. Maybe I’ll give away the d300 and smash my dad’s Leica? nahhh!
Thanks for taking a look at the website.
