A Trip to the Metal Shop

January 14, 2008

pieces.resized.jpgKim’s grandfather owns a metal shop in Bridgeport. Yesterday I was invited to the shop to help carry out a large pipe threader. As my “payment” I got to take a look around the shop and fire off a few shots. Luckily, upon leaving my house I grabbed my Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor Lens. The beauty of such a wide aperture lens is that it gives me the ability to shoot in surprisingly low light conditions. I will admit that at f1.4 the lens is not at it’s best, but when stopped down to f2.0 the lens really shines. The metal shop itself was really quite interesting. I’m told that it’s much more interesting when it’s in full operation, so I’ll be making a return visit at some point. The shots from the day are below…

You are amazing. My daughter Jacckie who you just graduated with showed me your site and you have a very talented gift. I feel very proud of you and will pass your site on to others I know of, of influence in your field.

    Namaste,

    Peggy
