A few shots in HDR
November 30, 2007
These are all shot and run through a post proccessing technique known as HDR. HDR stands for high dynamic range images. HDR allows for an exceptionally larger amount of detail than found in non-HDR shots. For most of these shots I’ve used a program called Photomatix Pro. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux (under wine). There is a fair amount of debate as to whether or not this technique is that “good” but I personally like the results.

OH MY GOSH, so the horses picture, absolutely gorgeous, I just love horses, they are my most favorite animal, you really captured the beauty of the horses. GREAT JOB aaron! LOVEEE YOU =)
Hi there Aaron!
Referring to your last picture (the one tagged “Should I leave” or something like that), is it possible to achieve that kind of picture using only night shot techniques? As much as I love HDR, I just don’t really like to alter pictures that I have taken, even though I have some knowledges in Photoshop and GIMPshop. You can call me a “purist” of some sort. Hehe:) Hope you reply soon.
Yes, if you look at my gallery “Boston at night” you will see the same shot in Non-HDR version, its similar but less is lost in the shadows. I too don’t like to do a lot of PP, but I’ve been trying to make realistic looking HDR photos, as it is a good technique to know. Thanks for the comment and please keep visiting often.

Even though the running water pictures you take probably aren’t that complicated to set up, they are still worthy of praise. Good job. I only wish I could take those kind of pictures.
I have not personally done a lot HDR work and it is something I would still like to pay some attention to at some point. Well done on your images - think they are great!
